Been thinking of doing something like this for a while. The landscape is a composite of 3 renders and the spacescape is entirely photoshop. A picture of a wall of chipped paint and a cloud-map were used to create the planets. Other effects were done by brushing and a bit of photomanipulation.
Software: Vue 5 Infinite / Photoshop CS2
Original Resolution: 1440 x 2160
Used brushes by *midnightstouch and *Shadow-Brushes
Update: Wallpaper version can be found here: [link] (no way I could resize it to fit everything, so its only the space part)
wow great job once again! its kinda fun waiting to see these pieces you create because each one is done so well!
i really like the way you did the sky, using the painted wall really gives the planet a lifelike look to it.
the stock photos you used at the bottom were definetly a good pick, and i dont think it looks too 'sharp' i think it looks good just the way it is.

`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
