    I'm still alive

For those wondering where I've been for the last month, I had to get surgery a few weeks ago for my appendix. The funny thing is I still have my appendix. Basically I was getting some sharp pains in my abs that wouldn't go away, so I finally decided to go to the hospital after 2 days of feeling like something inside me was about to burst. So I get to the emergency room and wait SIX HOURS before I could even get my cat scan. About an hour later, the idiot doctor in the ER told me it had ruptured already (probably while I was waiting, I thought). Anyway, I was actually starting to feel better and I had my laptop with me, so I checked what happens with a ruptured appendix and one site said that pain goes away before the onset of Peritonitis, which is often fatal and requires major surgery. So yeah, I started to freak out a bit.

5 hours later (FIVE!!!), I was finally brought in for surgery. When I woke up the surgeon told me my appendix is fine, so wtf is wrong with me I ask. To this day, he still doesn't know. After the surgery they kept me in the hospital for a few more days (on a clear-fluids-only diet :cries:) next to some guy hopped up on morphine who wouldn't stop farting :explosion:. So after they finally sent me home, I took the longest shower I have EVER taken and pigged out like never before. I think I regained the 10 pounds I lost those few days lol. So my appendix is still in me and I basically got surgery for nothing :shakefist: Better safe than sorry I guess. Anyway, I missed a lot of my classes that week so I've been spending the last few weeks getting caught up. I'll try to reply to all your messages and deviations as soon as possible.

I feel fine now but if anyone has any idea whats wrong with me, I'd like to know ;)

One would think that they would have taken it out anyway while they were already in you, just so there is no way such a thing could happen again.

I can't help but wonder if appendix's and tonsils should be taken out when people are still a baby, we don't need e'm anyway

Glad you are out of hospital, I have never needed to go to hospital since I was like...5, so I can't really remember how much it sucks.

Old mother hupboard went to the cupboard to fetch her poor dog a bone.
Went she bent over, Rover took over and gave her a bone of his own.

I know what's wrong with you...you're having withdrawls from not talking to me! Hope you can catch up in school, it'd suck to get I's. I've been in the hospital loads of times...though it was never for health, it was to visit my mom who works there. :giggle: Tricked ya! ;) Hurry up and sign on msn while I'm on there.

What the hell?!?! As if I didn't get to hear about this! I could have visited you in the hospital! Not that I want to be near a guy farting all the time. Good to hear its not anything serious (anymore). I guess that's why I didn't find anyone when I called your house the other day.

Well get better, I guess I won't be seeing you until all that work is caught up with :(

    I embrace my desire to
feel the rhythm, to feel connected
enough to step aside and weep like a widow
to feel inspired, to fathom the power,
to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain,
    to swing on the spiral
of our divinity and still be a human.

wow man im sorry to hear that youve been in so much pain, that sucks  glad to hear its not bothering you anymore, but its weird that they didn't know what it was..even after giving you surgery... whos your doctor? anyway i hope that you dont experience anything more like that... and keep me more informed with things like this from now on, and spencer too! hehe
and that sucks about the farting guy

Actually I messaged you while I was in the hospital :P But yeah, I don't think you would want to be there for very long  I didn't know you called, my caller ID must be crapping out. Anyways, I'm all better now and I'm pretty much caught up with everything. Are you done with school already?
    =Orikon:iconOrikon: Apr 8, 2008, 9:38:53 PM
lol yeah, that was unpleasant, I must have killed so many brain cells from holding my breath  The surgeon's name was Dr. Reich, he did look pretty young for a doctor :paranoid: Anyways, I'm all better now :w00t: and I'll be sure to keep you more informed ;P

Exactly! I was thinking the same thing, he was already in there why not just take it out anyway :shakefist:.
My guess would be that it's unsafe to do that kind of surgery on babies .
